Privacy Policy

What we collect

Contact form: when you submit our contact form we collect your name, email, phone (optional), and the message you send.

Newsletter subscription: when you subscribe to our newsletter (via the footer form or an exit-intent popup) we collect your email address and the source of the signup so we can attribute it correctly. Every newsletter we send includes a working unsubscribe link.

Free security self-check: the self-check runs in your browser and does not collect any personal data unless you choose to share it at the end.

IP address on form submissions: with every form submission we also record the requester's IP address for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. Raw IPs are retained for approximately 90 days and then aged out unless the IP is tied to an active suppression, delivery event, or audit record.

Traffic analytics — Google Analytics 4: GA4 stores a cookie in your browser and reports anonymized session statistics back to us. We do NOT use GA4 ads features and we do NOT cross-reference your visit with any ad network identifier.

Ad measurement — Microsoft Advertising UET: we run the Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking tag alongside GA4 to measure whether visitors from Microsoft/Bing Ads convert on our forms. Same posture as GA4 — no cross-referencing to other ad networks.

How we use it

Contact-form and newsletter submissions go into our customer relationship management system (CRM). We use them to respond to your inquiry and, if you subscribed to the newsletter, to send you short practical IT notes. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email.

We do NOT sell your data, ever, to anyone, for any reason.

Third-party services (processors)

Cloudflare Turnstile runs on every form on this site to prevent bot abuse. Cloudflare's edge receives minimal browser signals (User-Agent, IP address, interaction timing) to score each submission as human or bot. No personal data beyond the submission itself is shared with Cloudflare.

Cloudflare also hosts and delivers this website; standard web-server access logs (IP, User-Agent, request path, timestamp) are handled by Cloudflare per their published DPA.

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) processes the anonymized session statistics described above.

Microsoft Advertising (Microsoft Corporation) processes UET events for ad measurement.

Resend is our transactional and marketing email sender; Resend receives the email addresses of subscribers and recipients in order to deliver mail on our behalf.

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies: GA4 analytics, Microsoft UET ad measurement, a consent-banner state cookie, a temporary Cloudflare Turnstile challenge cookie on pages with forms, and (when you log into a portal session) a session token. Our cookie banner lets you decline analytics if you prefer.

Your rights (CCPA/CPRA, California residents)

You have the right to: know what personal data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; opt out of any data sale (we don't sell, so this is moot); receive a portable copy.

One important exception: certain audit records — email compliance suppressions, delivery/bounce/unsubscribe events, and our immutable email audit log — are retained even when the rest of your data is deleted. These records exist so we can comply with CAN-SPAM and email-abuse laws, prove we honored your unsubscribe, and defend against fraudulent claims. This is permitted under CCPA §1798.105(d)(1) and (d)(6). All other personal data associated with your account is deletable within 30 days of request.

Data retention

Contact form and newsletter submissions: retained for 7 years (typical business-records retention) unless you ask us to delete them sooner, subject to the immutable-records exception above.

Form-submission IP addresses: approximately 90 days for rate-limiting and abuse detection, then aged out unless linked to an active suppression, delivery event, or audit record.

GA4 user-level data: retained for 14 months per Google's standard.
